My Undetectable Story: 10 Tips for Newly Diagnosed HIV-positive

My Undetectable Story,  #MyUStory,  is a peer-led technology-based initiative by Adam's Love Global Foundation for MSM and Transgender Health (ALGO) for HIV-positive Thai MSM.

The programme highlights real-life stories of  Thai MSM living with HIV and enrolled in Adam's Love We Care  programme and reflects on their journey and how they successfully achieved an undetectable viral load. Through these stories the initiative aims to engage and motivate newly diagnosed MSM to achieve an undetectable viral load while optimizing technology-based support.

Hi, everyone

I am HIV-positive MSM and I have 10 tips for living healthy with HIV to share:

1. Accept what we face: to accept that we have HIV might be difficult in the beginning but finally it is the most important thing, if we can face reality and accept to live with it, there is nothing to fear.

2. Eat HIV medication on time everyday: This is very important. I have receiving personalized reminder from Adam's Love at my medicine time everyday, this make me never miss my dose.

3. Stop risky behavior: since I have had HIV, I stop all risky behavior and focusing on my treatment.

4. Eat good food: I can eat like when I didn't have HIV but I adjust to eat more healthy food such as vegetables, fruits, cereals, seeds, beans.

5. No alcohol: I personally don't drink alcohol but I know from friends that alcohol could really impact your treatment.

6. Be adherence to medication

7. Retain in clinic visit

8. Exercise: nowadays I exercise 15-30 minutes for 4-5 days a week.

9. Sleep early: I sleep at 10 P.M. daily and pray before going to bed to make my mind calm.

10. Maintain good habits as mention above.
