SILS Seminar: Innovative IT Approaches in HIV

Mr. Tarandeep Anand was invited by Profesor Gary Marchionini, Dean and Cary C. Boshamer Professor at the UNC School of Information and Library Science (SILS) to give a Seminar at School of Information and Library Science, University of North Carolina, March 4, 2016 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm Manning Hall, 208 School of Information and Library Science, University of North Carolina.

Mr. Tarandeep Anand shared insights on health and information seeking behaviors of vulnerable groups in Asia and types of avaible rich data sets from Website chat services (transaction logs and chat logs with English translations). Mr. Anand also explored collaboration opportunities with SILS faculty for data mining, machine learning and information health seeking behaviour, text analysis/data analysis.

Mr. Tarandeep Anand, CEO Adam's Love with Profesor Gary Marchionini, Dean and Cary C. Boshamer Professor at the UNC School of Information and Library Science (SILS). Profesor Gary Marchionini  has published over 200 articles, chapters and reports in a variety of books and journals. Professor Marchionini has had grants or research awards from the National Science Foundation, Council on Library Resources, the National Library of Medicine, the Library of Congress, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Kellogg Foundation, NASA, The National Cancer Institute, Microsoft, Google, and IBM among others.
